ZilStream 2.0
Leveling up ZilStream in every way
ZilStream launched in March 2021 and made an immediate impact on the Zilliqa blockchain. For the first time, users could easily explore trading activity and token data—all in one place. This transparency helped the Zilliqa community feel more confident and informed about their on-chain actions. Almost overnight, trading activity on ZilSwap surged, Zilliqa’s transaction volume shot up, and more users started joining the ecosystem. Within just a few weeks, ZilStream became the most visited site in the Zilliqa ecosystem—and it still holds that spot today.
Since then, ZilStream has been part of nearly every major token launch on the chain, helping teams connect with the community in meaningful ways. It’s also played a key role in putting Zilliqa tokens on the map, powering data feeds to platforms like CoinGecko, CoinMarketCap, DefiLlama, Torch Wallet, and many more. Along the way, ZilStream has gone beyond just charts and numbers—offering tools and insights like a real-time token launch calendar, faster on-chain voting via Zilliqa’s Snapshot, and visibility into key cross-chain infrastructure like ZilBridge.
Now, ZilStream is ready to level up again. Over the past few months, it’s started supporting EVM and ERC-20 tokens with the launch of PlunderSwap. That groundwork is in place, but there’s still so much more potential to unlock—and ZilStream 2.0 is the next big step forward.
ZilStream 2.0 will catalyze the next phase of growth and utility within the Zilliqa ecosystem, directly aligning with the collective’s mission of driving on-chain activity and real-world utility.
Version 2.0: Enhancing on-chain engagement and real-world utility
ZilStream 2.0 plans to bring in many more features that make the site more live, permissionless, richer with data, and more interactive than ever before.
Automated, live on-chain integration
In the current version, tokens and pairs had to be added manually. That changes with 2.0. The new version will pull data directly from the blockchain, in real time:
- A new token is created on-chain? You’ll see it instantly—before it even hits a DEX.
- A new pair is listed? You’ll be the first to know.
- A trade happens? It appears live, right when it’s done.
ZilStream 2.0 will sync with Zilliqa’s blazing-fast block times (roughly every second), ensuring the data you see is as fresh as it gets.
Dynamic trading and interaction
Each trading pair on ZilStream will come with its own live chart powered by TradingView. As new pairs stream in, their charts are automatically generated and ready to explore—no delays.
- Live Trades: Watch individual trades appear below the chart in real time, with details on size, price, and even perceived PNL.
- Wallet Labels: ZilStream will support both public and private wallet labeling—so you can spot team wallets or track your own favorite addresses.
- Integrated Trading: You can trade directly on ZilStream without switching tabs. Spot a move? Act on it instantly.
Deep blockchain exploration
ZilStream 2.0 isn’t just about tokens and trading—it’s about understanding the full picture of what’s happening on-chain.
- Browse and filter all tokens, contracts, and transactions.
- Build custom token lists using powerful filters like volume, age, creator wallet, and more.
- Dive into wallet activity: filter by transaction type, token, or volume. Follow wallet histories, or track specific behaviors over time.
- Wallets and contracts will be automatically organized by key metrics like TVL, unique users, and net inflows—so you can catch trends and token sales early.
Enhanced portfolio management
The ZilStream portfolio has always been popular—and it’s getting a full upgrade:
- Connect and track multiple wallets across Zilliqa.
- Get real-time profit & loss (PNL) updates, both for individual positions and total net worth.
- Set up smart alerts to monitor market moves or wallet activity.
- See and claim staking rewards from within your portfolio.
- Export your full transaction history, including fiat value at time of transaction.
- Integrate with crypto tax tools to simplify reporting.
Re-inventing membership and the STREAM token
With the new version many new features it makes sense to make some of them exclusively available for ZilStream members, on top of the already exclusive features that existing members have. New features will not be limited to just data point and insights, but will extend to the waiving of fees on smart contract interactions throughout the site. The token itself can also be used to interact with features and direct onchain functionality on the site.
Reflecting on the way ZilStream’s membership works (a % of your total wallet balance held as STREAM in your wallet) it’s also had some downsides and often lacked clarity. As part of this upgrade ZilStream’s membership will change to an NFT based membership token with an expiry date. For example, at the time of purchase you’ll be able to select for how many years you’d like to purchase your membership, similar to the way you can buy a Zilname or ENS domain. These memberships can be acquired in STREAM or ZIL (more expensive and kicks back to STREAM).
Because of our confidence in bringing sufficient value to the new membership structure and increased utility for the STREAM token, the ZilStream team will award the gZIL collective 250,000 STREAM tokens upon the completion of all milestones.
Future innovations and commitment
There are many more new features planned for the new and updated ZilStream, including a full overhaul of the UI, accounts, mobile apps (finally!), more block explorer like functionality, AI insights and much more. As always ZilStream will support all DEXes, all DeFi and all other onchain activity. And most of all the incredible Zilliqa community, for which we the thank them for their continued support.
Measuring success
ZilStream 2.0 isn’t a smart contract, but it plays a critical role in the health and growth of the Zilliqa ecosystem. As a data and discovery layer, its success can be measured through meaningful, real-world impact on usage and engagement. Here’s how we’ll know it’s delivering:
Increased Traffic to ZilStream
A rise in daily and monthly active users on ZilStream.com will show that more people are exploring the ecosystem, checking charts, tracking tokens, and staying updated.
Higher On-Chain Activity
A measurable boost in Zilliqa’s transaction volume—especially on DEXs and DeFi protocols—is expected as users take quicker, more confident actions thanks to real-time data and insights.
More Engagement with New Tokens and Pairs
ZilStream 2.0 will surface newly created tokens and pairs the moment they go live. We’ll track increased trading and wallet interaction with these assets as a sign that users are actively discovering and participating in the ecosystem.
Greater Social Sharing and Visibility
As ZilStream’s charts, token pages, and wallet insights become more useful and interactive, we expect an uptick in community sharing on platforms like Telegram, X (Twitter), and Discord.
Growing Interest in Zilliqa Projects
More attention on the ecosystem—from both existing and external users—will be evident through cross-platform mentions, token coverage, and integrations. ZilStream acts as a bridge between projects and users, making Zilliqa’s activity more visible and engaging to all.

ZilStream is a community-driven analytics and portfolio platform built to help users explore, understand, and act on activity within the Zilliqa ecosystem. Launched in March 2021, it quickly became the most visited product in the Zilliqa space—helping users visualize on-chain activity, track tokens, analyze trades, and make faster, more informed decisions.
The project was founded and developed by Melvin, a long-time Zilliqa community member and full-stack engineer with over 15 years of professional experience. ZilStream was built solo from the ground up with a strong focus on performance, usability, and trustless insight—something the Zilliqa ecosystem lacked at the time.
From day one, ZilStream has been fully open-source. The project believes in transparency and community ownership, and with the upcoming release of ZilStream 2.0, this commitment remains unchanged. All future development, including the new UI, features, and milestone rollouts, will be public and trackable in real-time on GitHub.
ZilStream isn’t just a dashboard—it’s infrastructure for discovery, trading, and deeper ecosystem engagement. Built by a solo dev, fueled by community support, and designed to scale with the growth of Zilliqa and beyond.
The grant
ZilStream is requesting a grant of $40,000 to fund the development of ZilStream 2.0 – a fully live data platform for Zilliqa 2.0.
Here’s a short breakdown of what the funds will be used for:
50% ($20,000) — Backend Development
The heart of ZilStream is its backend. To support all the new features in 2.0—like live data, fast updates, and deeper analytics—it needs to process and serve large amounts of on-chain data quickly and reliably. This requires advanced optimization and engineering, especially with Zilliqa 2.0’s faster block times.
